Kayluxx

My name is Kayla Parent and I am the designer of my dream brand Kayluxx. I was born in Lowell, MA, where I lived until age 19, when I then moved to Hudson NH. At age ten I took a serious interest in fashion design. Filling notebooks and drawing pads with hundreds of designs. At age 11 I took my first few sewing classes. My first at home project was a pair of pajama pants, that I wore frequently. 

Continuing my interest and education in Fashion, I entered Mount Ida College as a freshman in 2014, as a Fashion Design major. In school I designed and constructed about twenty garments, six of which were in the 2016 annual Fashion Features fashion show, hosted by Mount Ida College, at The Royal Nightclub in Boston, MA. In 2017 I had two garments entered into the annual Mount Ida fashion show, and in the 2018 spring show I had seven garments shown, representing my Unicorn and Lightning Storms evening wear collection. I earned a Bachelors of Science in Fashion Design, in 2018, in the final graduating class of Mount Ida College.

In the future I would like to continue designing and making evening wear and ready-to-wear apparel in a new way. Exploring the use of recycled and sustainable materials to create clothing that is better for the environment.
